Terms of Use
1. Who we are
"SANbox RP," "we," "us," or "our" refers to the community operated by Snippy Studios, based in the State of Georgia, United States. We run a free FiveM roleplay community and the website you're reading this on. Snippy Studios is an informal community project, not a registered company.
2. Who can use the site
You must be at least 13 years old to use SANbox RP, matching Discord's minimum age. If you're under 13, please don't create an account or apply to a department.
You sign in with your Discord account. Keep your Discord credentials safe — anyone who gets into your Discord can sign in as you. We're not responsible for actions taken under a compromised account.
3. What we offer
Access to the SANbox RP community is free. We don't currently sell anything through the site — no paid perks, no subscriptions, no premium tier. If that ever changes, a separate Terms of Sale will be added and you'll be asked to agree before any purchase.
The website is provided "as is" — sometimes things break, sometimes we take stuff down for maintenance, sometimes we change how things work. We try to keep it running smoothly but can't promise zero downtime or that any specific feature will keep working forever.
4. Your account
Signing in with Discord creates an account on the site automatically. By signing in you confirm that:
- You're at least 13
- The Discord account is actually yours
- The information you submit (applications, character details, etc.) is honest
We may suspend or close your account at any time if you break these terms, our community rules, or the law. You can also delete your own account at any time — see the Privacy Policy for what gets removed.
5. Community rules
Standard community-server stuff. While using SANbox RP, don't:
- Harass, threaten, dox, or discriminate against other members
- Post sexually explicit, gratuitously violent, or hateful content
- Cheat, exploit bugs, or use unauthorized third-party tools in-game
- Impersonate staff, other players, or anyone else
- Submit fake applications or use multiple Discord accounts to evade bans
- Try to break into the server, the database, or other people's accounts
- Spam, scam, or run malicious links
Our department-specific rules may add to this list. When you join a department, you agree to follow that department's rules too.
6. Content you submit
Application answers, character names, announcements, forum-style posts — anything you write or upload on the site is your content. You keep ownership of it.
By submitting content, you grant SANbox RP a non-exclusive license to display it on the site, share it with the appropriate staff, and use it as needed to run the community. You also confirm you have the right to submit it (e.g. you didn't copy someone else's application or steal an image).
We may remove content that breaks these terms or our community rules. If you delete your account, your content is anonymized — your name and avatar are removed but the content itself (e.g. a public roster note) may remain if needed for community records.
7. Site content
Everything we publish on the site (designs, code, logos, written copy) belongs to Snippy Studios unless credited otherwise. You can view it, save pages, and link to us. You can't republish, sell, or reuse the site's design or code for a different community without permission.
The SANbox name and logo are ours. Department names and badges may belong to the department or be inspired by real-world equivalents — those aren't endorsements of real agencies.
8. Third-party services
SANbox RP uses some external services to function — Discord for sign-in, FiveM and Cfx.re for the game server, our hosting provider for infrastructure. Those services have their own terms. We're not responsible for outages, policy changes, or bugs in those services.
9. Liability
SANbox RP is a hobby community, not a commercial product. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we're not liable for:
- Lost time, lost progress, lost characters, or lost roleplay
- Damage to your computer, software, or other digital content from using the site
- Decisions you make based on information you see on the site
- Outages, downtime, or unavailability of any feature
- Conduct of other community members
Nothing in these terms removes liability we can't legally exclude (e.g. fraud, willful misconduct).
10. Termination
We can terminate your access at any time, for breach of these terms, breach of community rules, or because we're shutting down a feature. You can stop using the site at any time too. Sections that should reasonably survive termination (content licenses, liability, jurisdiction) survive.
11. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. Material changes will be announced in Discord and posted at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Privacy
How we handle your data is covered separately in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.
13. Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States. Any dispute relating to these terms will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Georgia. If you're a consumer in another jurisdiction with stronger mandatory rights, those rights still apply to you — these terms don't override them.
